With another rare playoff road win the Boston Celtics have catapulted themselves into the NBA finals to face the Los Angeles Lakers. For the Celtics it is their 20th NBA Finals appearance, but first since 1987 (a loss to the Lakers). The Celtics are 16-3 in the Finals. For the Lakers, it is their 29th appearance and first since 2005 (a loss to the Detroit Pistons). The Lakers are 14-14 in the finals.

The Celtics and Lakers have faced each other 10 times in the finals prior to 2008 (1959, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1984, 1985, & 1987), which will be their 11th meeting in the finals. The Celtics have won the match up 8 times, and the Lakers have won it twice.

"I think I proved I'm a good clay court player," the Brit said. "You saw by the way that he reacted at the end of the match that it was a tough match. To win against me on clay is a very good result. I'm not someone that's going to be taken lightly on this surface in the future I don't think."

The NCAA Division I Softball Women’s College World Series will take place starting tomorrow (5/29/2008) and running through June 4. Virginia Tech. will face Texas A&M for the Division I softball crown. Games will be held at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Only 13 of 72 scheduled men's and women's matches were completed on Tuesday at the rain-soaked French Open, where Nikolay Davydenko and Stan Wawrinka were the only two Top 10 seeds on and off the court.
